Beautiful Creatures - the book

Now on at the movies but read the book too.  Here's a trailer.  The book is available now in the library for seniors only.

Just added to the list of great weblinks on this site's blogroll (see righthand side list) a great review site  Check it out for book reviews and reviews for other types of entertainment media like movies, apps and music.  You can read comments and ratings by others and add your own.

Writer's Week 2013

What excitement has been witnessed from the library looking down on the mysterious arrival of a huge nest, large coloured eggs and the various additions.  What next?

Pirates Day in the library

To celebrate International 'Talk like a Pirate Day' we had a lunchtime of pirate activities in the library today.  Student librarians did really well hosting this.  Colouring in, pirate mazes, pirate memory and dominoes games kept our library humming.  We gave out stickers and treasure bags to deserving pirates.  Lots of fun and happy faces.

Books for parents

We have a good selection of books for parents in our library.  To see what's available from home you can search the library's catalogue
Search under Reading lists (left hand menu) select the Parents Library list and the book titles and cover images will be displayed.
Two new additions to the parent's library cover the sensitive issue of bed wetting and bowel control. Parents are most welcome to come to the library anytime to use the Parents Collection.  For more information email us

Olympic Reading Challenge results

The medals have been awarded and the points all counted in the Olympic Reading Challenge.  The winners are:
